A. Supporting information

Lead committees

1. The table that accompanies this report (see Appendix 1) was originally presented to the Professional Standards and Performance Monitoring Committee (PSPM) on 29 th August 2000. Although there is some over-lap of interests between some of the sub-committees, the table has been revised to clarify which committees will take the lead for which performance indicators. It is intended that where possible duplication should be avoided.

2. The range of indicators listed in the table has been grouped according to subject. Further information provided in the table includes the frequency with which indicators will be reported on and the origin of each indicator and its target. To avoid duplication between Policing Plan Indicators and Best Value Performance Indicators some indicators will not be reported on.

3. The PSPM will need to ensure that the full range of performance indicators are being properly co-ordinated and monitored. Subject to this paper meeting the approval of PSPM Committee, it is suggested that it be presented to the next meeting of the Chairs Co-ordination and Urgency Committee.

B. Recommendations

  1. That the table of indicators (Appendix 1) be forwarded for the attention of the Chairs Co-ordination and Urgency Committee at their next meeting.

C. Financial implications

There are no financial implications.

D. Review arrangements

As specified above, the contents of this paper and the Appendix attached will need to be forwarded for review to the Chairs Co-ordination and Urgency Committee. Subsequently, further amendments may be required to this paper.
