9. Apologies

(Agenda item 1)

Head of Committee Services informed the Sub-Committee that the Professional Standards and Complaints (PSC) Committee had yet to meet in order to discuss the membership of the Sub-Committee. Therefore, in order to consider urgent cases and in accordance with the Authority’s standing orders, the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair of the Authority, had agreed under delegated authority on the grounds of urgency to appoint all members of the Professional Standards and Complaints Committee as members of the Sub-Committee until such time as the Committee considers its membership.

Apologies for absence were received from Anthony Arbour.

10. Chair of the Sub-Committee

Reshard Auladin was proposed and seconded as Chair for the meeting.

11. Declarations of interests from Members of the Sub-Committee

(Agenda item 3)

Richard Sumray declared a prejudicial personal interest in agenda item 7a and withdrew from the meeting during that item.

12. Minutes

(Agenda item 4)

The Sub-Committee considered the minutes (Part 1) of the meetings held on 15 July 2004.

Resolved – That the minutes of the Sub-Committee meetings held on 15 July 2004 (Part 1) be agreed and signed as a correct record.

13. Exclusion of Press and Public

(Agenda item 5)

A resolution was put to exclude the press and public from the meeting during items 6-8 as it was likely to disclose exempt information as described in Schedule 12(a) (1) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

Resolved – That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during discussion of agenda items 6-8.
