MPS Inspection

Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary (HMIC) carry out regular inspection of the MPS, both at a force level and at a local borough level. Their role is to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of policing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland through inspection of police organisations and functions to ensure agreed standards are achieved and maintained and that good practice is spread and performance is improved. They also provide advice and support to the tripartite partners (Home Secretary, police authorities and forces) and play an important role in the development of future leaders
