AGM report

Summary

This report seeks ratification of the calendar of Authority and Committee meetings for 2004/05.The calendar takes account of the committee structure approved by the Authority at its meeting on 27 May 2004.

A. Recommendation

That the calendar of meetings for 2004/05 given at Appendix 1 to the report be agreed.

B. Supporting information

1. At the Authority meeting held on 27 May 2004, members agreed the Authority’s committee structure.

2. In the light of that decision, a committee calendar has been drafted to reflect that structure and where possible to maintain the informal agreement with other functional bodies, that Thursday afternoons should continue to be allocated for MPA meetings to minimise any meeting clashes. Where a Thursday was not available, meetings have been programmed into the calendar for Mondays or Fridays.

3. The calendar has been circulated to colleagues at the GLA, London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, the MPS, LGA and with lead MPA officers and those comments received have been reflected where possible. As with previous calendars, meetings have been scheduled during the political party conferences, member may wish to consider if this practice remains suitable.

In drafting the calendar consideration was given to religious and public holidays.
